The Conference organised by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Co-operation and Development, KfW Entwicklungsbank and WWF Germany was attended not only by the Ministers of the Environment from the Caucasus countries but also by representatives of international conservation and donor organisations. The key theme of the conference was the conservation of biological diversity in the Caucasus region through increased dialogue and co-operation between government organisations and NGOs of the different countries.
