The AlpCheck project is aimed at making homogeneous the road traffic data in the main Alpine Space's communication road network. Its purpose is to implement an informative system which could manage data collected by the monitoring systems operation in the Alpine Space.
In the frame of AlpCheck Project's important goals, the environmental study presented in this publication (WP7) aims at analysing the impact of Alpine traffic on the environment. Main goals of the analysis are the estimation, by means of the analysis of the different pollutants, of the level of traffic pollution and identification of the environmental critical points in the Alpine arc.
This report, developed by EURAC in cooperation with the Lead Partner Regione Veneto, the Italian Ministry for the Environment and the WP7 partners, wants to be an appropriate tool for giving an original and analytical contribution to the problem of the road transport impact on air pollution in the Alpine Region.
