Alpine Youth on the Move
The “Alpine Youth on the Move” project strengthens young people's participation in topics such as sustainability, mobility, and political processes. Young people plan and organize activities and gatherings for a community.
It is essential to listen to the voices of young people and include their perspectives. For this reason, CIPRA International established the CIPRA Youth Council (CYC). In 2018, this highly committed group of young people developed the YOALIN project to inspire young people across the Alpine region to engage with sustainability and mobility. Some former participants continue to be involved as Ambassadors, allowing the community to grow year after year.
The project activities are designed to strengthen the community and create a network that will remain active beyond the project's duration. The main themes of the activities are mobility, ecological connectivity, community building, and political participation. Between the two main events – and during their travel period with YOALIN – participants are encouraged to engage independently with these topics.
The events are organized and carried out by the young people themselves. The results will be presented by participants to EUSALP Action Group 7 and during a workshop at an international conference.
