Oh...!

Aug 23, 2013 / alpMedia
… The Swiss Alpine Club (SAC) is this year celebrating its 150th anniversary and has got Mother Nature to build it a table of snow and ice at an altitude of 2,700 metres.
The festive board is 1,500 square metres in size and, with a height of 1.5 metres, resembles a gigantic, oversized standing table. The SAC is not however expecting it to be used for dancing, singing or dining in style, as the table is a residue of the Brunnifirn Glacier. For nearly two months part of the glacier has been covered with a special fleece. The remaining, unprotected glacier surface will melt during this time. "The uniqueness of the project lies in the visualisation of the theme and the monumental effect of the glacier table, which has a surprising effect on the landscape", according to the Alpine Club's website.
