In September CIPRA focused on the issue of sustainable mobility and transport as part of cc.alps and co-organised two events on these topics.
The "Mobility of the Future" event held in Belluno/I on September 24 discussed the challenges, possibilities and opportunities of carbon-neutral mobility in alpine towns. Besides the theoretical and practical input from the speakers at the event, the 100 or so participants also had the possibility to discuss - with experts and politicians as well as in working groups - the mobility concepts implemented by towns and their surrounding areas. The event was organised together with the Alpine Town of the Year Association and the Alliance in the Alps network of municipalities. The conference documentation can be downloaded at www.alpenstaedte.org/de/infoservice (de/it/fr).
And on September 16 and 17 a two-day workshop on "Urban Spaces on the Way to Sustainable Mobility" was organised in Ljubljana/SL as part of the European Mobility Week. The event focused on the connections between sustainable mobility and spatial planning. The 70 or so participants looked at the existing and necessary instruments in urban and transport planning. The workshop was organised by CIPRA International and CIPRA Slovenia.
