European Environmental Bureau (EEB)
CIPRA has been actively involved in the European Environmental Bureau (EEB) since May 2025 – the largest NGO network in Europe, with 180 member organisations from 40 countries.
Membership in the network gives CIPRA the opportunity to represent the interests of the Alpine region at the European level. Through its participation, CIPRA helps shape environmental and climate policy positions and makes Alpine concerns visible in key European decision-making processes. At the same time – not least for resource reasons – CIPRA sees itself primarily as a recipient of knowledge: developments at EU level can thus be incorporated at an early stage into its political work and projects in the Alps.
As of January 2026, CIPRA is represented in the following EEB working groups:
- Agriculture, Food and Biodiversity
- Climate and Energy
- International Environmental Governance
- Legal Affairs
In addition, as a European organisation, CIPRA holds a seat on the EEB Council, where strategic documents not covered by the thematic working groups are discussed.
