International competition for the 7th edition of Lausanne Jardins
Oct 05, 2022
We are pleased to announce that the international competition for the 7th edition of Lausanne Jardins is officially launched. It is addressed to landscape gardeners, architects, designers and artists from all over the world to create approximately twenty gardens on the theme of water. These gardens will be set up on the shores of the lake during the summer of 2024. The call for applications will be open until 11 November 2022.
The seventh Lausanne Jardins, a flagship event born of the will of the City of Lausanne, will take place from June to October 2024 on the theme of water in order to raise awareness of its importance. Hidden under our feet or in the air we breathe, water has shaped the city, in addition to being an essential element of urban quality. Along the shores of Lake Geneva, between the lake and the city, the 2024 festival offers a visit by the water’s edge.
The competition will take place in two phases. First, teams will be selected on the basis of their applications. After selection, some 120 teams will be asked to develop a landscape installation project by 24 February 2023. The formation of multidisciplinary teams is strongly encouraged, although each team must include at least one garden professional, with a strong emphasis on plants and bio-based materials.
Phase A: Selection of the applicants Launch of the competition: 3 Octobre 2022 Deadline for submission of applications: 11 November 2022 Phase B: Competition and project development Deadline for submission of projects: 24 February 2023
