In an open letter to the responsible EU Commissioner, CIPRA International, the Commission for the Protection of the Alps, is calling for immediate measures to reduce the number of lorries on the busiest transit route in the Alps: A higher truck toll on the Brenner corridor and a Europe-wide minimum toll with effective surcharges in the Alpine region and other polluted areas. On 28 August 2019 experts from the countries and regions concerned will meet with representatives of the EU Commission in Brussels to discuss toll measures.
