Nov 20, 2008 / alpMedia
ACCESS, the transnational project, was launched in Genoa/I at the end of October. Its objective is to improve the provision of basic public services in rural mountain regions using innovations in organisation.

It focuses in particular on the provision of local services, post office and telecommunication services, public transport, health services and education.
ACCESS is looking to develop new structures designed to enable regions to help one another, with ideas and co-operation ventures, to improve the provision of basic public services. It focuses on ascertaining what goods and commodities are needed in everyday life, providing better access to non-local services, setting up area-wide online access, and improving the mobility of the population as a whole. The project's lead partner is the Swiss Working Group for Mountain Regions (SAB).
