The results are to provide rationales and guidelines for the work to be carried out by researchers, scientists and politicians.
The conference is divided into two main areas. While the first is to address scientific topics of general relevance to mountain regions, the second is to focus on regional issues. Although the organisers give special emphasis to the Alps, other mountain systems are also to be reflected. Key topics to be addressed by the Workshop include multifunctional land use, sustainable tourism, water and transport. The conference is to be held in English.
