Aims

This project is designed to reduce the climate impact of transport in Oisans. The Oisans territory's carbon footprint has shown that passenger transport (due mainly to tourism) accounted for 26% of CO2 emissions, i.e. the second highest source of emissions after industry (41%). The Oisans Territorial Climate Plan (TCP) provides for a reduction scheme designed to meet national and international objectives. This project is aimed at optimising existing offers, developing public transport routes, and raising the awareness of tourists and local residents to the use of public transport and gentle mobility...

Realization

Invitation to tender for the appointment of a design office in charge of implementing the territory's transport diagnostics and developing the Oisans transport plan. Launch of a study: state of play, needs analysis, definition of action plans, development of a transport plan, thoughts on setting up a transport organising authority across the entire Sud Isère basin.
The study is to be monitored by the technical transport committee of the Oisans Territorial Climate Plan, which is to convene every quarter. The study is to be carried out in consultation with the Conseil Général de l'Isère (CGI). Once the study is completed, the technical committee for the Territorial Climate Plan is to implement the recommendations based on the diagnostics in order to optimise the transport offer in the Oisans and, more generally, in the Sud Isère.
In addition, some special aspects of the study will be studdied:
o Parkings: offer, distribution, difficulties and communities' politic
o Goods transportation
o Accidentology

Impact

Optimising the public transport offer. Developing alternative modes of transport to fossil fuels for regular and tourist routes within the territory and for incoming routes.
