Networking activities in tourism and regional economy circles in the town of the Ammergauer Alpen under a common brand

How can regional economy circles be supported in a sustainable way? How can the survival of country farms be guaranteed and the image of a living natural and cultural landscape be preserved? How can it be enhanced sustainably? How can the needs (and consequences) of modern tourism be harmonised in an environmentally friendly way with regional products and modes of production? Answering these questions and solving the connected tasks within the framework of the Alpine Conventions protocols, these are the tasks that the towns in the Ammergauer Alpen have set for themselves and as platform for the inter-town implementation in 2004 they have set up the Ammergauer Alpen GmbH.
Hiking is a health form of tourism, the Ammergauer Alpen offer around 500 km of well developed paths with various degrees of difficulty.

Aims

The towns of the Ammergauer Alpen have set the objective, to intertwine as part of DYNALP the marketing of the tourism destination and of the regional products in such a way that within the region, facilities for sustainable value exploitation have been set up - on the principle of the synergies between agriculture, production, trade, tourism players and hospitality sectors.

Realization

Guests and locals must be conquered through appropriate actions in domestic and foregin marketing.

Impact

The Ammergauer Alpen GmbH, which includes 6 towns in the Ammertal, manages and licences the "Ammergauer Alpen" brand as tourist destination brand and as quality brand for regional products and services. The first holder of the quality brand for regional products is the cheese factory Ammergauer Alpen eG that opened on 19 August 2005.
