Biosphere Management/Community Assistance Sustainable Development

Biosphere school in UNESCO biosphere Entlebuch.

Biosphere school in UNESCO biosphere Entlebuch.

The Entlebuch region has been working for a number of years on pooling different activities in a variety of sectors and on developing a common objective. A milestone was reached when the region was accepted as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2002. As part of the DYNALP project the management of the UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch (UBE) is pursuing a project designed to promote the population's awareness of an active, future-oriented and sustainable development. Its aim is to facilitate co-ordination and assist the transfer of know-how to the individual communities and through to the population itself.

The community players involved exchange information about their activities at a workshop, state their needs and draw up joint action strategies. They are assisted by the UBE Regional Management.
