INARCH Workshop

INARCH, a global collaborative research initiative in mountain hydrology, will be holding its third annual workshop at the Environmental Research Station Schneefernerhaus (UFS), and will provide an opportunity for scientists to explore and discuss those specific issues in mountain snow and ice hydrology highlighted in the inaugural INARCH workshop in Kananaskis in October 2015 and during the course of the second annual workshop in Grenoble in 2016.

The workshop will address four research themes, led by a keynote speaker:

Snow Hydrology, Dr. Tobias Jonas (SLF)
Glacier Hydrology, Prof Dr. Georg Kaser (UIBK)
Alpine Measurements Including Remote Sensing, Dr. Thomas Painter (JPL/NASA)
Climate Models and Downscaling for Mountains, Dr. Roy Rasmussen (NCAR/UCAR)

Each talk will be followed by a moderated discussion. These guided discussions will be supplemented by topical poster sessions, with a short presentation on each poster.
