Re.sources

Mar 05, 2020
[Project completed] Water, soil, bees, ideas, motivation, time: the Alps contain a wide range of resources. A large part of the natural capital is under threat, while the social potential for more sustainable solutions still slumbers in many places. What are my resources and what are yours? Which ones are in danger and which ones are our lives dependent on? What resources does it take to make a change towards sustainable development in the Alps?

The project Re.sources is tackling these questions by bringing people from different Alpine countries to work together. The approach is participative and based on the principles of co-creation between young talents aged 18-30 years, environmental NGOs, civil society and politicians. The common denominator of the intergenerational project is a strong commitment to the sustainable development of the Alps at local, national and international level

The topic of resources will be explored in greater depth in three international workshops and many job shadowings. CIPRA's national representatives, the “CIPRA Youth Council” and the other project partners are working with young adults to develop ideas and activities on these topics and implement them in their respective countries so as to promote social innovation and sustainable development in the Alps.

The two-year project Re.sources is a follow-up project to “Living Labs”.

Young people travel through the Alps to visit the various project partners and monitor their work. It is a great opportunity to see how NGOs work and to connect with experts in sustainable development. Young people can also contribute their ideas and participate in local events. The project offers 40 study visits with opportunities for discovering the work of environmental protection organisations. Those interested may apply via email.

Local and national activities

The project partners work together with young adults to develop ideas and activities on the topic of resources and implement them in their own countries.
