In a joint venture with Jungfraubahn AG and Swisscom Broadcast AG it is testing the feasibility of continuous operation on suitable building façades. It is using solar panels at altitudes of 3,500 m and 3,700 m. Calculations show that due to the more intensive solar radiation and the lower temperatures the panels are expected to yield outputs that are 50% to 70% higher than comparable installations currently operating in Berne. Besides measurement results the tests are also designed to give an indication of the acceptance for a façade-integrated high-alpine solar power station.
