cc.alps is on the move throughout the Alps!

Jul 13, 2010 / cc.alps
Showcasing cc.alps results and raising the awareness of target groups at events throughout the Alps remains firmly on the agenda for 2010, too.
cc.alps is in the mix: cc.alps takes part in international conferences to publicise its know-how of sustainable climate response measures in the Alpine region.

Participants in the "Building with a Future" workshop were able to see for themselves on site the success of concrete measures aimed at energy-efficient construction in the Alpine Town of the Year 2009. Bolzano/I provided the venue on 22 and 23 April for a meeting of architects, experts and council representatives from Italy, Slovenia, Austria and Germany, who gathered at the workshop to discuss ways of implementing these measures in their respective countries. The event was organised by the CIPRA projects climalp and cc.alps. The papers and results of the field trip can be downloaded at www.cipra.org/en/cc.alps/downloads

Tourism was also an exciting topic in the spring. With events such as "The Challenge of Climate Change - Responsible Mountain Sports" in Bad Boll/D cc.alps was able to reach a key alpine target group, which addressed the issues of tourism and adapting the tourist offer: www.alpenverein.de/template_loader (de).
Tourism also played the lead role in Obergurgl/A in June. It provided the setting for a lively discussion on gaps in the research and on future projects on the subject of climate change and tourism. Results in autumn 2010 will include an article on artificial snow installations with emphasis on water and energy, and a project on summer tourism in the Alps in the face of climate change.
