Adaptation Strategies for European Cities
Stakeholder Dialogue
Adaptation Strategies for European Cities, a project carried out for DG Climate Action, will engage cities across Europe and provide capacity development to selected cities to help them draft and implement an adaptation strategy, a challenge that can only be met through the involvement of all relevant stakeholders. In preparation for this capacity development programme, three Stakeholder Dialogues are being organised across Europe between June and July 2012, inviting city delegations, other regional or national stakeholders as well as European experts. This one day free of charge dialogues will provide participants with regionally tailored expertise on climate change challenges. They will offer the opportunity to exchange experiences on climate change vulnerabilities, to share and learn from good practice city adaptation case studies, and to voice opinions on current and future needs on adaptation. Each Stakeholder Dialogue will discuss themes such as coastal impacts and sea-level rise, flooding, water scarcity, and extreme heat suited to the regional context.
