Since 2001 the Regional natural parc leads an ambitious politic concerning the development of the wood energy field. The parc accompanies the member municipalities in the realisation and the follow-up of wood boiler rooms as well as in the supply. This helps to limit forest fires and opens up a new economy for local development, creates jobs while at the same time helps protect the environment.

to valorise the vast resources of wood in the territory and to promote renewable energy production
The first activities carried out in their renewable energy plan concerned the installation of communal boilers in some municipalities in order to promote the local wood industry. After these first initiatives in some municipalities a technical accompaniment was installed by the housing service of the parc to promote the realisation of photovoltaic centres and panels. This help given by the info energy space is free of charge and addresses to individuals and to the industry.
* transformation of an old dump into a solar panel field * 20 communal wood boilers installed in the parc * projet in Apt to create an urban heat network to provide for 1000 apartments and houses, industrial sites and public buildings; the project is validated and will produce about 6MW * the wood for the communal boilers is all local and 3 wood enterprises (already existing on the territory) could guarantee and diversify their income this way * the installation of renewable energies is growing constantly in the territory
