Climate protection measures under scrutiny
The data set for “cc.alps - Climate change: thinking one step further” comprises 299 climate change mitigation measures. 52 percent, i.e. 156 protection measures, are a product of the “Climate in the Alps is much prized” competition, while 48 percent or 143 protection measures were researched by the national CIPRA offices. The majority of the protection measures, namely 88 items, are reduction measures, with 35 adaptation measures accounting for the remaining 12 percent.
Tables 1 to 4 show the results of the evaluation for the seleced categories of measures. They are presented in the form of the minimum score (lowest assessment in the category), maximum score (higest assessment), average score (arithmetic average) and in some cases the median (middle value that divides the sample into two equal halves). 29 measures could not be evaluated, either because they have not yet been implemented or because not enough data are available for an assessment.
