Alps & People

The manifold aspects of the relationship between the Alps and the people who live, work and recreate there were the main focus of the fourth edition of the AlpWeek. In order to identify and showcase different approaches and sustainable development options, the organisers of AlpWeek 2016 entered into a dialogue with Alpine players focusing on three main fields of action: demography, culture and quality of life.

CIPRA was contributing in two sessions:

  • Session 4: "We are the climate!" Reflections on lifestyle and climate friendly behavior as well as youth and citizens participation based on the projects "Youth alpine express" and "100max".
  • Session 28: "Roaring deer, babbling brooks" - Conserving open landscapes: concepts, strategies, experiences, visions, prejudices and resistance.
