11th Swiss Global Change Day
The Swiss Global Change Day is an event where the whole global change community can meet and discuss ongoing problems in a transdisciplinary manner.
The aim is to present recent highlights in global environmental change research as well as to point out challenges for future research.
Besides there is the opportunity for people from governmental institutions, economy and politics to ask questions and explain their needs and views on the presented topics.

Continents under Climate Change
Climate change is one of the most urgent problems and a huge challenge for mankind. In its tradition to be the "modern classic" the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin will host an international scientific congress on the consequences of climate change on a continental scale. The Alma Mater Berolinensis will offer a platform to discuss the state of knowledge of climate change and its risks for nature and humans. Contributions from natural sciences are expected to provide information about the internal mechanisms of the climate system. However, the congress aims to identify and synthesise the socio-economic and political impacts of climate change as well.
The aim of the congress is to strengthen the awareness of the impacts on different natural environments and socio-economic systems. In the best tradition of the Humboldt brothers the scientific results of climate impact research have to be transferred to society. So, the congress is destinated to scientists, decision makers, students and the interested public. At the beginning of the post-Kyoto-process the congress should be a reminder of the overall importance of climate change.

Coping with Climate Change - Transnational Action in the Alps
Expert Workshop (on invitation) in Interlaken, Switzerland bringing together experts – practitioners, policy makers and scientist - in the field to analyse the state of achievements, to identify gaps and scope for improvements to support mitigation and adaptation measures in the Alpine Space.
The Alps are much earlier and more strongly affected by climate change than other regions in Europe. Coping with the various effects of climate change is a key challenge for the Alpine Space. Joint efforts and cooperation are indispensible to adapt and to mitigate impacts and which calls for a dynamic exchange between all the on-going projects in the Alpine Space.
The workshop organised by the Alpine Space Programme will bring together experts – practitioners, policy makers and scientist - in the field. They will analyse the state of achievements, to identify gaps and scope for improvements to support mitigation and adaptation measures in the Alpine Space. Potential new project ideas for the Alpine Space Programme will be identified as well as opportunities for further capitalisation and synergy building between existing initiatives.

MTNCLIM 2010
The MTNCLIM research conferences are sponsored by the Consortium for Integrated Climate Research on Western Mountains (CIRMOUNT), and are dedicated to mountain climate sciences and effects of climate variability on ecosystems, natural resources, and conservation in western North American mountains. MTNCLIM conferences feature invited and contributed talks, poster sessions, and working-group sessions. A post-conference workshop for natural-resource managers is held to address implications of climate variability and climate change in conservation and resource management. MTNCLIM convenes every two years. MTNCLIM 2010 will be held June 7-10, 2010 in Blue River, Oregon at the HJ Andrews Experimental Forest.
The MTNCLIM conferences are intended for scientists, students, managers, policy makers and other professionals interested in mountain climate sciences, their effects on ecosystems, and interactions with resource management, conservation, policy, and society in western North America. Meetings are scheduled annually/biennially and rotate around western mountain regions. They are designed to communicate serious science in informal settings. We encourage presentation of work-in-progress, innovative directions, controversial topics, and especially encourage young scientists to offer abstracts.

2010 International Climate Change Adaption Conference
Co-hosted by Australia's National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility and the CSIRO Climate Adaptation Flagship, this conference will be one of the first international forums to focus solely on climate impacts and adaptation. It will bring together scientists and decision makers from developed and developing countries to share research approaches, methods and results. It will explore the way forward in a world where impacts are increasingly observable and adaptation actions are increasingly required.
The Climate Adaptation Futures Conference will showcase leading impacts and adaptation research from around the world. It will explore the contribution of adaptation science to planning and policy making, and how robust adaptation decision making can proceed in the face of uncertainty about climate change and its impacts.

9th International NCCR Climate Summer School
The summer school invites young researchers from all fields of climate research. The courses cover a broad spectrum of climate and climate impact research issues and foster cross-disciplinary links. Each topic includes keynote plenary lectures and workshops with in-depth discussion in smaller groups. All summer school participants present a poster of their research and there will be ample opportunity for discussion.
