International conference: sustainable tourism, environment and employment - Proceedings

Berlin, October 2000 (Environmental Encounters No. 51)

The conference was based on the Council of Europe's work which, for several years, has appealed for the development of all forms of sustainable tourism in Europe, with particular attention to the central and east European countries. The issue of employment and local development was one of the conference's main themes: European speakers from all fields expressed their opinions on this question and presented concrete experiences of job creation and local community development within the framework of sustainable tourism programmes.
