Establishment of a network of protected areas across the Carpathians

The Carpathian Convention provides for the establishment of a network of protected areas across the Carpathians (Article 4, Paragraph 5 of the Draft Convention) designed to complement the pan-European ecological network.

The French delegation to the Alpine Conference's Standing Committee has given notice that France, Germany and Monaco would be providing financial backing for the establishment of a network of protected areas in the Carpathians.
