Implementation Strategies for Enhancing Nature and Landscape on Behalf of Tourism

With the Achental Eco Model the local municipalities have as part of Dynalp created a varied and extensive package of measures to enhance their unique cultural landscape. Successes include joint calendars of events, nature and hiking guides, a variety of workshops, participation in supraregional events, general marketing activities and PR work.

Retaining pasture economy is a significant goal of the Achental environmental model.
Natural and small-sized agriculture is still greatly significant in Achental.

Areas of action of the alpine convention:

Die Vertragsparteien verpflichten sich, alle erforderlichen Maßnahmen zu ergreifen, um die Anwendung und Verbreitung von extensiven, naturgemäßen und gebietscharakteristischen Bewirtschaftungsmethoden in den Berggebieten zu begünstigen sowie die typischen Agrarprodukte zu schützen und aufzuwerten.

Aims:

The project should lead to the environmentally-friendly development of the town of Achental as well as the protection of the cultural landscape and the quality of the environment. This occurs through information, actions for the general public, raising awareness, environment education and creation of an awareness with the locals and the guests.

Realization:

As many people as possible must be included in the project for the implementation, and this especially in the most significant (for us)= economic sector: Tourism.

Impact:

The actions implemented show some positive effects, e.g. in the field "Farm holidays ". Here on the land of a farming company the various sectors agriculture, tourism and nature protection are strictly and effectively connected.
Consequences emerge in many sectors with some delay, before even monetary effective results can be achieved.
