at least that's what many residents of Munich are hoping. The 75 m Fröttmaninger Berg, a rehabilitated landfill site on the outskirts of the city, has been equipped with two ski lifts, snow guns and a snow groomer in time for this season. However the ski enthusiasts are still waiting for better days. Because of the high temperatures there has been no snow as yet and no artificial snow either. But of course next season will be quite different! The main partner in the project is a company specialising in snowmaking equipment. That's why the president of the Munich Ski Association is convinced that, providing that partner stays on board, things are bound to improve by next season so skiing on top of the landfill can go ahead.
