The Summer Academies of CIPRA2009-02-16
More than 120 people from nine countries took part between 1998 and 2004 in the seven "Focus on the Alps" Summer Academies. By means of this three-week training, CIPRA provided university diploma holders with a comprehensive overview of the Alps. The Summer Academies were international, intercultural, multidisciplinary and with a practical orientation.
The Summer Academies represented further training for people that are interested in having a multidisciplinary and trans-national view of the development in the Alps and who want to exchange views with people from other countries and specialist fields. Since 2005 there are no funds available for the Summer Academy. In addition to that, many comments suggest that a three-week course is too long. Therefore, CIPRA will offer within the framework of the project “Future in the Alps“ shorter training events, specifically devoted to individual target groups and will give up the implementation of the Summer Academy. |
