Disseminating knowledge – networking people, this is the motto of Future in the Alps. Future in the Alps is a broad-based knowledge management project run by CIPRA for the promotion of sustainable development in the Alpine region. People, businesses and institutions can network in order to share and implement know-how and information and thus stimulate sustainable development in the Alps. More |

In the International Year of Mountains 2002, through alpMedia CIPRA began an ambitious information service for the sustainable development in the Alpine area. To date, every second week a Newsletter is published in four Alpine languages, which is sent by EMail and published at the same time in the Internet. Every two months, an English summary is published. Through the alpMedia website, it is possible to search for numerous Alpine and mountain specific publications, events, links and dossiers. More |

Nature in the Alps should be allowed to network more effectively; to this end, the hindrances that stand in the way of animal migration and the spread of vegetation and plants should be made more permeable. CIPRA together with the Alpine Network of Protected Areas, the WWF European Alpine programme and the International Scientific Committee on Research in the Alps is aiming to create an “ecological continuum” in the Alps. Through project climalp, CIPRA promotes the construction of energy efficient buildings with regional timber in the Alpine area. CIPRA organises excursions and also provides information about wood value chain, climate protection and opportunities for promotion in the individual Alpine countries. More |
Working in and with networks is fundamental for CIPRA. It works with an international network of organisations, institutions and people, whose objectives are to harmonise ecological balance, economic stability and social progress in the mountain regions worldwide. More |

The Alpine Convention is an international agreement for the promotion of sustainable development in the Alps. CIPRA gave a decisive contribution to the start of the Alpine Convention. It has the official observer status, takes part in the sessions of the permanent committee of the Alpine Conference and at the Alpine Conferences and is engaged in various working groups at the Alpine Convention. Since 1952 CIPRA has been organising annual international workshops. Since 1981, the annual workshops focus on one topical issue, such as for example climate change, the Alpine Convention, Tourism and Traffic. More |

CIPRA takes a stance on significant issues and for the implementation of the Alpine Convention in the Alpine countries, as well as by the EU. With respect to this, it drafts resolutions, declarations and statements. More |
