The Solargenossenschaft Liechtenstein installed solar panels on two bridges crossing the Rhine between Lichtenstein and Switzerland. The bridges go from east to west, with one side facing south which makes it ideal for solar planels.

Using solar energy in a spot that is usually of no use.

a) Solar panels were installed on the bridge beteween Bendern-Haag in 2000 b) the second project was carried out on the bridge between Vaduz-Sevelen and is working since 2004

To produce environmental friendly electricity

The project was financed by the municipalities, the Government of Liechtenstein, various foundations and private enterprises
