System of district heating on biomass in Gornji Grad
Sistem daljinskega ogrevanja na biomaso v Gornjem Gradu
This climate response measure was researched by the project team as part of the cc.alps project in 2009.
:
This the first system of district heating, with cauldron power of 2 x 2 MW. The heat produced is used to heat most of the buildings in town and supply energy for the company Smreka, who is also the main supplier for biomass in the area.

The aim of the project was to build a pilot district heating plant using wood biomass in order to promote modern technology based on domestic energy sources and to deepen our understanding of this processes.
A district heating system was built.
Boiler room for district heating using biomass with cauldron of 4,0 MW and a total system length of approximately 7 km. 'Output' for the transport of heated water goes through new 2- pipe heat conductor and amounts to 18 GWh/a.
