Renaturierung des Skigebietes "Gschwender Horn"

This climate response measure was researched by the project team as part of the cc.alps project in 2009.

Immenstadt

de (Germany)

1994 - 1998

Mr Ernst Polzer
Stadt Immenstadt

:
Due to relatively snowpoor winters and the trend to ski in large and snow-sure ski regions the "Gschwender Horn" slope at Immenstadt could not be profitably operated. The City of Immenstadt therefore decided to restore the slope to a natural state.

local

renaturation

- demolition of skilifts - renaturation of slopes - termination of operational impacts (noise, contamination by snow cats, cars, and so forth) - reduction of noise exposure by means of signposting -creation of a local recreation area

- the former sites of the former skilifts and operational building were all completely covered by vegetation adapted to the location - the once levelled areas of the slope had been recultivated and are no longer visible - none of the once abundant loss of uses, most prominently the ripping of the top soil and pasture by edges of skid and snow cats, are visible anymore

Administration (local, regional, national)
