Common management of the forest resources in the Chiese Valley through a collaboration between several municipalities. The plan proposes to create internal economies in wood work and in the following initiatives to commercialize timber products.
The plan had a four-year duration and was realized inside the Leader II program (under measure E) "Development and marketing of local forest products – creation of small and medium businesses". The plan aimed to split the woody mass between the businesses through contracts, to sell timber products by auctions and to divide the profits between the members with the addition of a provincial contribution (7 Euro/mc).
It was estimated by a management plan that the woody mass contracted during the four-year period of the project was about 36.000 mc. There is no exact data about the growth of the employment in the sector.
Administration (local, regional, national)
The plan is supported by the BIM Municipalities Consortium (Bacino Imbrifero Montano = Mountain Catchment Basin) and by some municipalities in the Chiese’s Valley. The B.I.M. Municipalities Consortium was founded in December 1955 and consists of all the municipalities belonging to the Valley.
