:
This project is Mr. Krug´s own initiative. He is the forest guard of a forest covering 400-500 hectares (secondary pine tree tillering). Wood pasture was common in some parts of the forest leading to a high degree of soil degradation. According to the Tyrolean project on semi natural forest management Mr. Krug is changing the structure of the forest.

The longterm objectives of this project are: soil regeneration, forest regeneration, creating a forest with more species and increasing the overall biodiversity. The site factors are ideal for spruce, fir and beech trees. Pines are being reduced and the wood is processed into woodchips wich are used as fuel by locals. In the future deciduous trees will supply the woodchip heat plants.

One hectare of pine tree forest is harvested annually; afforestation with deciduous trees is conducted. Some locals (farmers, owners of tourist apartments ) are being supplied with woodchips. To gain supporters and to spread the idea locals are being informed about the concept .

Supplying the local partners with 1700 bank meters of wood annually, which leads to a retrenchment of 270000 l of fossil fuel.
