The associations "Klimabündnis Österreich" in Austria, "Todero" in the Czech Republic and "FoE-CEPA" in Slovakia want to raise awareness about the use of renewable energy sources. The cooperation wants the project "Let the sunshine in" to be a contribution to a sustainable global energy system.

It is necessary to provide information about renewable energy sources because they are a key factor for a socially fairer and ecologically more sustainabe developement in Europe and Amazonia. Furthermore actions are presented on how to reduce energy consumption and how to promote and support renewable energy sources.

Several activities take place: seminars, lectures, workshops in communities, schools and companies. A network is created by personal contact between the cooperation partners and the indigenous representatives. The indigenous communities are supported by the installation of solar panels on schools. The communities are also provided with educational material for schools and communities. There are also cooperations with politicians and the econnomy like round tables, forums and personal meetings.

The indigenous communities in Amazonia have gained more autonomy and could strengthen their rights. The education system has improved, research done by indigenous people is being published, women gained more autonomy,...
