The municipality has realized a wind power plant on Mount Pecora, a spot tested for good wind conditions. It will represent an essential contribution to satisfy the energy needs of Badia Cavalena and allows to reduce CO2 emissions to 2400 tons/year.

The plan proposes to produce energy from renewable sources (wind) and to attain a massive reduction of CO2 emissions. The wind plant will produce 2.000.000 Kw/year (more than half of the energy needs of Badia Cavalena). The municipality would create an information centre on sustainable energy by the wind plant.
Only one tower was installed , 65m high with 3 wind-vanes 38m long (total height: 103m). The tower contains the generator and has been anchored to a reinforced concrete platform (diameter 70m). A little building that allows to connect the plant to the national electric net is the only other visible component. Specialists classified Mount Pecora site as a "low intensity wind spot" (class 2), a common condition in all Lessinia area. Anemometric studies started two years before the beginning of the project and showed a wind average of 15,12 Km/h. Wind-vanes start working at 6,48 Km/h.
The wind plant opened in september 2008. Estimated production (if the plant would work at least 1.400 hours/year): 2.000.000 Kw/year (more than the half of the energy needs of Badia Cavalena).
Administration (local, regional, national)
The municipality's plan has been partially financed with European funds and partially with private funds. Private staff will manage the central, but the plant will remain a property of the municipality.
