The biomass plant, inaugurated in the month of june, is the first one of seven installations planned in the Carnia region. It was realized with European funds and it produces energy through a boiler fed to biomass collected in the forests of the region.

The plan purposes to produce energy to power a district heating system that allows to reduce pollutant emissions and, at the same time, increasing the local wood activities, using their production rejects.
It was realized a plant powered to biomass. From the plant starts a district heating system that supplies 17 subscribers: 6 public and 11 private.
The district heating system produces energy with biomass, reducing in this way the use of fossil fuels, pollutant emissions and, at the same time, increasing the value of local woody resources.

Carnia Mountain Community that includes 28 municipalities in the mountain region of Friuli. The plant was financed partly by the Friuli-Venezia-Giulia region according to the Italian Ministry of Finance to use "CIPE" funds, and for the rest with the balance resources of the Carnia Mountain Comunity.
