Supplying current generated by solar plants has become more and more attractive since the Erneuerbare Energie Gesetz (EEG - renewable energy bill) has been approved. A side effect is the growing number of open land solar plants which are sprouting up all over Bavaria's alpine region. The revenue is also higher for solar energy per sqkm area than for food crops.
