The district Oberpullendorf counts 38.000 inhabitants, consisting of 28 communities. In the past, several projects in the field of renewable energy have been realized. Biomass heat plants were built to substitute fossil energy imports. A 100% substitution has not yet been reached.

sustainability
Main objective of the project is to develop a concept, which shows the potentials of how to save energy in Oberpullendorf and which shows how the district could be energy self-sufficient (heat, electricity, fuel). The search for new technologies in this field and their combination is a second aim.
The project is structured in 4 packages: 1)research about enery saving potential in Oberpullendorf 2)evaluating available resources in the district 3)research about possibilities of energy production 4)PR
Saving ressources through renewable energies.
