impact limitation
To limit the impact of skiers on the mountain ecosystem and to sensibilise them toward the environment. Moreover the ski school wants to financially support an association working in sustainable development.
The ecorider school has started in winter 2008/2009. They are going to give a part of their revenue to Mountain Riders, an association working on sustainable development. At the end of the season all activity is going to be checked by an CO2 audit to improve its impact limitation for the next season. Additionally the clients will be sensitized on sustainable development issues: waste, respect of the mountain milieu, etc. To reach the different skiing sites the clients are encouraged to use public transportation. They are also indicated to buy local products in order to cut distribution circuits. Moreover the ski school is proposing ski jöering which means skies pulled by a horse to avoids taking ski lifts.
