The environment and energy management agency (ADEME) and the ACCOR group signed a national cooperation agreement in 1999 concerning sustainable development more exactly the use of renewable energies. Within this context the warm water production by solar energy has been installed in the hotel Formule 1 in Gières.

Reduction of electricity consumption and development of renewable energies.

Installation of 100 m² solar captors with a storage capacity of 5000 liters of hot water.

This solar installation covers 42% of the energy need to produce warm water which means 2100€/year. The total investment of the project was 75260€ without charges whereas 30104€ have been financed by ADEME.
