The OPAC (office public d'aménagement et de construction de logements sociaux / public office of development and construction) in the département of Isère has created a wood boiler room with a power of 500kWin in 2001 as part of its renovation programme supplying 100 social appartments in Tullins.

The objective was to reduce the cost of rent while contributing to environmental protection.

In 2004 the heating costs were at 4,80 € /m²/year (all taxes included) which is highly competitive if compared with the average heating costs of all other OPAC's rental objects (7,20 €/m²/year all taxes included).
