"ara star" Oekostrom

"ara star" ist aus Biogas gewonnener Ökostrom. In der ARA Thunersee wird Abwasser von rund 150'000 Einwohnern gereinigt. Als Abfallprodukt entsteht bei der Säuberung des Wassers Klärschlamm, welcher in einem speziellen Behälter gesammelt wird und zu gären beginnt. Durch diesen Gärprozess entsteht Biogas.

"Minergie" Feriendorf

Beim REKA-Feriendorf Urnäsch wurden alle 50 Wohnungen nach Minergie Standard ausgestattet. 60 % des Auftragsvolumens von ca. CHF 20 Mio. wurde an Unternehmen des Appenzellerlandes vergeben. REKA vermarktet in Urnäsch das Angebot "Ferien auf dem Bauernhof". Die REKA hat die Zusammenarbeit mit den mitwirkenden "Appenzeller Erlebnisbauernhöfen" vertraglich geregelt. Dank einem jährlichen Fixum können die Bauern auf einen gesicherten Anteil Ihres Einkommens zählen.

1000 junge Bäume zum Nutzen der Menschen

Der Riggwald befand sich in einem schlechten Zustand: Nun wird er intensiv gepflegt und es werden jedes Jahr 1000 neue Bäume gepflanzt. Zur Pflege des Waldes gehört auch das Abholzen alter Bäume. Pro Jahr werden 1000 Kubikmeter Holz an regionale Sägereien verkauft. Der Wald schützt Mensch und Tier in den Dörfern Silenen, Amsteg und Bristen, sowie auch die Autobahn A2 und die SBB-Gotthardstrecke vor Steinschlag und weiteren Naturkatastrophen.

Absorptionskälte mit Biomasse

Bei der Entlebucher Spezialitäten Käserei AG wird der Prozess der Milcherwärmung mit Holzschnitzeln geführt. Erstmals in der Schweiz wird nun aber die aus den Holzschnitzeln gewonnene Wärme genutzt, um eine Absorptionskältemaschine zu betreiben. Das Projekt wird von der Stiftung Klimarappen unterstützt.

Abwärmenutzung der Kunsteisbahn Davos

In der Valliant Arena Davos, in der im Winter der Hockey Club Davos (HCD) angefeuert und der Spenglercup ausgetragen wird, entsteht bei der Kälteerzeugung viel ungenutzte Abwärme. Die Gemeinde Davos Landschaft entschied sich zur Nutzung eines Teils dieser Abwärme.

Seit Januar 2006 produziert die Axpo Tegra AG Energie in Form von Dampf aus Holz und spart damit fossile Rohstoffe ein. Abnehmer von Prozessdampf ist die benachbarte Industrie, welche dabei ihren CO2-Ausstoss reduziert, indem sie Heizöl durch Holzenergie ersetzt. Der Dampf wird zudem auch für den Antrieb einer Kondensationsturbine genutzt. Ein Generator wandelt dabei die mechanische Energie der Turbine in elektrische Energie um, die das öffentliche Netz speist.

Holzschnitzelheizung für Gewächshäuser

In Fully (VS) werden vom Familienbetrieb Michel Granges-Frasseren auf 9 Hektaren Gemüsesetzlinge, Blumen, Kräuter und Gewürze mittels integrierter Produktion (IP) kultiviert. Seit 1962 wurde mit einem Ölkessel mit einer Kapazität von 2'900 KWh geheizt, der jährliche Ölverbrauch lag dabei bei 400'000 Liter. Seit 2007 wird nunmehr mit Holzschnitzeln geheizt. Als Brennstoff werden dafür unter anderem Schwemmholz und Holzabfälle aus dem Wald der umliegenden Gemeinden genutzt.

Trinkwasserkraftwerk

Sachseln bezieht sein Trinkwasser vorwiegend aus acht hochgelegenen Quellen im Mettental. Von diesen Quellen wurde bereits im Jahre 1939 eine Eternitleitung mit neun Druckbrechschächten ins Tal errichtet. Die bestehende Eternitleitung wurde nun durch eine neue Hochdruckleitung aus duktilem Guss ersetzt. Neuerdings kann vom neuen Ausgleichsbecken auf 1'494 m ü.M. bis zur Zentrale Obflue auf 525 m ü.M. ein Druck von 90 bar aufgebaut werden, mit dem die Turbine Mehrstrom produziert.

UNESCO Biosphäre Entlebuch UBE

Die Gemeinden Doppelschwand, Entlebuch, Eschholzmatt, Flühli, Hasle, Marbach, Romoos und Schüpfheim bilden die Unesco Biosphäre Entlebuch. Im Zentrum steht die Wechselbeziehung Mensch und Natur gemäss der "Sevilla-Strategie" (1995) des Programms "Men and Biosphere" (MAB) und den Nachhaltigkeits-Kriterien der Schweiz (2001). This project is Mr. Krug´s own initiative. He is the forest guard of a forest covering 400-500 hectares (secondary pine tree tillering). Wood pasture was common in some parts of the forest leading to a high degree of soil degradation. According to the Tyrolean project on semi natural forest management Mr. Krug is changing the structure of the forest.

Naturwärme Reit im Winkl

The plan proposes to produce energy from renewable sources (biomass) and to attain a strong reduction in CO2 emissions. The measure aims at reducing the output of carbon dioxide by 8.800 tons annually and to save 4 million liters of fuel oil.

AlpesAutoPartage

The cars are reserved to subscribers and are shared amongst them. The user can book a car by internet available on different spots in the city whenever he/she wants, with the extras he/she needs. The subscription to the service is at least a 3 months long contract. The subscription to the car sharing service can be combined with a one year subscription to local public transports services (bus and tramway – TransIsère, Semitag). 20 cars are available in the city.

Der Klimapfad liegt im Oberengadin zwischen Samedan und Pontresina. Am Punt Muragl befindet sich die Talstation der ältesten Drahtseilbahn der Schweiz. Sie führt zur Bergstation Muottas Muragl. Dort beginnt der Klimaweg, an dem 15 Tafeln das Klimageschehen in den Alpen erläutern.

Berghütte der Zukunft

Die ETH Zürich und der Schweizer Alpen-Club (SAC) haben gemeinsam das Konzept der Neuen Monte-Rosa-Hütte entwickelt. An der Berghütte lassen sich wegweisende neue Technologien in Entwurf, Berechnung und Fertigung exemplarisch darstellen. An exponierter Lage auf 2883 ü. Meer, inmitten einer unberührten und spektakulären Landschaft, eingebettet zwischen Gorner-, Grenz- und Monte Rosa Gletscher, wird ein Meilenstein für das hochalpine Bauen gesetzt.

Carano (TN) hosts the biggest italian photovoltaic public plant on an area of about 15.000 square metres, 1.200m above the sea level. It is made of 2.946 monocrystalline silicon photovoltaic panels.

The moor landscape of the Allgaeu Moor Alliance ranks among the most comprehensive and most diverse moor areas of Germany. The Allgaeu moors are home to over 90 highly endangered or almost extinct species. In the core project area there are 1.830 ha of nature protection areas and a further 10.254 ha of FFH territories. Nevertheless 90% of the moors in Allgaeu have been damaged and only 1% at maximum can be called natural.

Doppelpower

Das Unternehmen SN Energie nutzt heute die Wasserkraft der Sernf sowie des Niederen- und Leuggelbachs im Glarnerland für die Stromgewinnung. Nachdem das Wasser in der Zentrale Schwanden die Turbinen angetrieben hat, fliesst es zurück in die Sernf. Das wird jedoch nicht mehr lange der Fall sein: In Zukunft soll das saubere Wasser durch einen 1,7 km langen Stollen mit 35 m Gefälle geführt werden. An dessen Ende wird erneut Strom gewonnen. Darum der Projektname "Doppelpower".

FloodRisk

The catastrophic floods in Austria of August 2002 prompted a fundamental technical and political discussion on how to deal with such natural disasters in the future. Based on 46 subprojects involving more than 130 people from a wide range of institutions, and with input of more than 60 organisations, the project has produced important insights and identified deficits. It has also defined the necessary course of action with regard to future-oriented, integrated flood management.

Freilandsolaranlagen

Supplying current generated by solar plants has become more and more attractive since the Erneuerbare Energie Gesetz (EEG - renewable energy bill) has been approved. A side effect is the growing number of open land solar plants which are sprouting up all over Bavaria's alpine region. The revenue is also higher for solar energy per sqkm area than for food crops.

Gletscherabdeckung Gurschengletscher

In den vergangenen 15 Jahren hat sich der Gurschengletscher bei der Bergstation um rund 20 Meter abgesenkt. Zu Beginn der Wintersaison 2007 war es nicht mehr möglich, die Pisten über den abgesunkenen Gletscher zu erreichen. Durch den Einsatz von 3000 m2 Gletscherschutzvlies Ice Protector Optiforce bei der Bergstation am Gemsstock in Andermatt konnte das Wegschmelzen von Schnee und Eis weitgehend gestoppt werden.

Due to relatively snowpoor winters and the trend to ski in large and snow-sure ski regions the "Gschwender Horn" slope at Immenstadt could not be profitably operated. The City of Immenstadt therefore decided to restore the slope to a natural state.

Tropenhaus Frutigen

Der Lötschberg-Basistunnel gibt auf der Nordseite pro Sekunde etwa 100 Liter rund 20 Grad Celsius warmes Bergwasser ab. Soviel warmes Wasser darf nicht in die schützenswerten Bergbäche wie die Kander eingeleitet werden, weil es das Aufstiegs- und Laichgewässer der einheimischen Seeforelle stört. Das Wasser wird nunmehr für eine Störzucht und die Produktion von tropischen Früchten genutzt. Dieses Gewächshaus wird somit durch warmes Bergwasser und zusätzlich durch Nutzung von Sonnenenergie beheizt

Wasserwelten Göschenen

In der «Wasserschule» lernen Schulkinder unter freiem Himmel die komplexen Zusammenhänge der Natur, insbesondere des Wassers kennen. Es stehen Unterrichtsmodule, unter anderen auch zum Thema Klimawandel und Gletscher sowie ein Lehrmittel zur Verfügung. Bei schlechtem Wetter steht der Lernladen im Schulhaus Göschenen zur Verfügung. Beim «Wassererlebnis» steht die Sensibilisierung der Touristen im Vordergrund.
