Abstract
Transland provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of the art and state of the practice in transport and land use planning in the EU. Some innovative policies and best practices have been highlighted through the evaluation of 26 case studies. Transland has also clarified the need for further research concerning the interaction between transport and land use. Key research areas identified include new technology, urban form strategies and travel behaviour. In addition, the field of integrated transport and land use planning would also benefit from increased knowledge about financial intervention, and new approaches such as public private partnerships.
