Abstract
The issue is a comprehensive collection of papers representing a cross-section of theory in public policies and participate practices. Several papers thoroughly describe theoretical concept of deliberative democracy and its relation to other decision making forms, i.e. majority, negotiating and participative as well as their merits and threats. The deliberative concept frames the analysis of the new generation of policies with specific view on policy shortcomings and opportunities in the Italian context. The practical aspects refer to the assessment of the potentials of emerging innovative decision making practices such as neocorporativisim, territorial agreements, consensus conferences, citizens’ juries, deliberative opinion surveys, Agenda 21, strategic planning and participative accounting. Case studies include the analysis of recent changes in territorial governance in France, United Kingdom, Italy. The titles are: Paradossi della democrazia deliberative. Governance territoriale dell’ economia in Francia, regno Unito e Italia.
