- Abstract
- In the first, theoretical part the book uses simple sociologic concepts to explain the main reasons for the mistrust and communication gaps between experts, decision makers and users of space. The explanations include the social complexity and the problems of legitimization in general as well as problems, specifically related to the transition processes in Slovenia and the position of existing decision making forms and subjects within this context. Second part is more practically oriented, proposing some guidelines for applied sociology in spatial planning and decision making processes, such as social impact assessments, policy analysis, public opinion research and forecasting exercises. An annexed case study presents qualitative analysis of the siting process for radioactive waste repository in Slovenia
