Abstract

Current trends in organic farming are displayed in this study. Particularly in Alpine regions organic farming holds an important function in fostering local economic, social and cultural initiatives, co-operation with sustainable tourism and environmental preservation. The study also highlights the impact of EU policies on regional development initiatives.
