- Abstract
- The volume presents an interesting analysis of mountain tourism, starting from the theory, through the methods and the strategies. The last part of the volume is dedicated to good practice experiences related to sustainable tourism in some alpine regions. These experiences help to maintain tourist activities in the alpine regions and show how mountain communities have to find new solutions, which can respond properly to the changes of tourist trends. Among these experiences, there is the “Red Cock” label (see Best Practice database) and the tour operators’ label of the Stelvio National Park (pp. 315-120); the application of network perspective in mountain contexts (pp. 333-346), the research on summer tourist’s behaviour in the Dolomites (pp. 363-387); the project based on the image and the customer satisfaction in Tyrol/South Tyrol/Trentino (pp. 389-399); the study on strategic repositioning of tourist offer in Valle d’Aosta (pp.401-420). These experimental researches partially fill the gap of studies on tourism in the Alps, which have often been based on historical analysis without considering so much the necessity of expressing new inputs.
