- The Zurich S-Bahn was put into operation in 1990. As a consequence, the affected regions and their catchment areas benefited from a transport service with a synchronised timetable, regional lines through Zurich main station, adjustment of bus and tram services to rail services, unique tariff system for all service areas and public transportation services.
