Abstract
Analysis of the economical impact of water energy production in different communities of canton grison. The publications shows that small hydroelectric power stations don't have enough impulses to advance regional development in a community. Indeed, the community can profit from the taxes and interest, but effects on working places, value added and regional economy are low. 22 communities in the canton Grison can differ in the water energy production. They have a stratgic success posititon in the engery market with possibilities to export water energy. To this 22 communities belong also the 2 communities valley "Poschiavo" with the communities Brusio and Poschiavo, and the valley "Bregalia" with the communities Vicosoprano and Castasegna. This regions are very rural and peripher regions. But thanks to the water energy production, they have a strong regional economy. Due to the economic value added in this regions, the attractiveness increase and young people and innovative business settle down in the region. The hydroelectric power stations also contribute a well completed infrastructure in the regions. The communities gain about 38% of their income only from the water energy production. Also other branches can profit. There is a multiplier effect on the construction branches, which profit from the annual service work on the stations. The publications shows that the endogenous resource "water" can have a positiv impact on a region and represent innovative potential for regional development also for the future.
