Abstract

The book is divided into three parts: the first one is dedicated to the peculiar evolution of some specific regions, the second to the factors of development and the third to the elements of economic vitality. The book contains some essays, written by geographers and economic historians, which analyse the diversity of some specific mountain regions between the century XVIII and XX. Diversity which depends on environmental, cultural, economic and social conditions.
